My Girl Review

Hey todays review is going to be My Girl. This drama is now pretty old but it’s very good and entertaining well in my opinion. The TV series started on December 14, 2005 through February 2, 2006. It has 16 episodes and each episode is longer than an hour. This drama was incredibly adorable and the romance was just perfect for me.
Joo Yoo-Rin is the perfect liar and that’s how she gets through her life especially that her father is always getting into trouble and she has to deal with it. She ends up meeting a rich man of the name of Sol Kong-Chan his family is the owner of a very famous hotel in Korea. Kong-Chan’s grandfather Sol Woong is very sick in the hospital he really wants to meet his granddaughter who he has never meet for many reasons. Now he feels like he is going to die so he wants to meet her before he dies. Kong-Chan feels pressured to find his cousin as he tried to find her he was told that she passed away. He didn’t have the guts to tell his grandfather this so he ends up meeting Joo Yoo-Rin at the airport and meets her again later on. He figures out that she is an incredible actress and liar and pays her to act as his cousin. She agrees because she is in the need of money and she gets to live in a beautiful house. As she lives under the same roof of Sol Kong-Chan she starts developing feelings for him and everyday it gets harder for her to lie to his family and to live under the same roof as him pretending to be cousins.

This drama ended up being really one of my favorite dramas. Joo Yoo-Rin played by Lee Da-Hae was just so adorable and I loved how she dressed. Usually a compulsive liar get in my nervous in dramas but she actually didn’t instead she ended up becoming so cute. I felt really bad for Seo Jung-Woo is played by Lee Joon-Gi because he immediately fell in love with Joo Yoo-Rin and before he meet her he was just a playboy so I’m guessing she was a really big deal for him. He also plays Sol Kong-Chan’s cousin. There is this part of the drama were Jung-Woo makes a little snowman for Joo Yoo-Rin because during the whole month of December it’s her birthday so he kind of made it as her present and I thought that scene was just so cute and I loved it so much. In that scene you really see how he cares about her and wants to be with her. A character that was just so annoying was Kim Se-Hyun played by Park Si-Yeon she played Kong-Chan’s girlfriend. At first she decided to leave him to play tennis but she just left him without a word and Sol was so heartbroken over it because he really loved her. She comes back after a year or two and tells Kong-Chan to get back together with her and I thought: what the hell is your problem you broke his freaking heart and you expected him to come running to you. But, he was so freaking stupid and decided to go back with her. His whole family hated her as well and was against the relationship but never really told him to breakup with her. I understand that Se-Hyun wants to be a tennis player but she could have told him to wait for her but no she just left him without a word. But, he slowly starts falling for Joo Yoo-Rin who is way more adorable then that skannk and Se-Hyun starts getting jealous and makes everything so difficult for them. This dramas has so many ups and downs and it gets so irritating but that’s good though I like it when it’s like that because it makes you have so many feelings at the same time. So, towards the end when you think that the main characters are together Joo Yoon-Rin decides to leave because she thought she was making it difficult for everyone and Sol Kong-Chan is once again heart broken. But, he does the nicest thing ever even though Kong-Chan doesn’t see Yoo-Rin anymore he collects snow globes for her every day that snows and when they see each other again he gives them all to Yoo-Rin and that’s when she finally realizes how much she really loved him. Ooo and one of my favorite characters of the drama was Ahn Jin-Ky played by Jo Kye-Hyung. He is the brother of Joo’s best friend. So, he meets Sol’s assistant and he literally goes to the hotel place where she works and just tries to talk to her because he really likes her. Then he gets a model opportunity and the only reason he takes it was to impress the assistant and show her that he is also professional. That story was just so adorable. But, inclusive the drama was delightful, cute, full of sorrow, and just every emotion. In some parts it reminded me of a older version of Boys over Flowers. Rich guy and poor girl at the end they both leave each other for some type of reason. This type of drama is the kind that I am always looking for it has the perfect romance for me.

I give this show a 9 out of 10 monohorns I give it a 9 only because the mean girl was just so annoying at times. Also, because Yoo-Rin freaking left him and I felt she just should have stayed. Lastly, Yoo-Rin’s dad got on my nervous at times as well. But I loved this drama a lot and if you want something cute and romantic watch this drama it’s just perfect. That’s all I have for today thanks for reading my review and this was Ms. Lee Min Ho and BYE!!!!!! Lastly, please read my previous review which was about Roy Kim’s new album Love Love Love and MV.

Curious she follows him until they arrive at a field that overlooks the town. There she discovers his secret: he's taking care of a monster.

A Solution for Jealousy

Konbawa~
A cute AMV by one of my second Vocaloids, Gumi-chan! I love her goggles and her voice is adorable! Anyway, the song is about a boy who loves a girl in his class, but think she's in love with someone else. He wished he could be the type of guy that would support and cheer her on, but he can't overcome the jealousy that possesses him. He's feelings just keep growing every day. Check it out, its a good song with a cute love story

Kiss, Break Up, Kiss

Konbawa~
Sakisasa and Hatori when they first met
in elementary school
The heat is killing me. I’ve lived in Los Angeles my whole life yet I still can’t tolerate this heat! I really don’t understand how I’ve survived so many summers. Well before I possibly die, I’ll review Kiss, Zekkou, Kiss by Fuijiwara Yoshiko. It’s one volume, the prequel to Fuijiwara-sensei’s 10 volume series Kiss, Zekkou, Kiss Koura no Baai. The art is unique but not very impressive, the standard often falling and becoming below average. Sometimes the writing is confusing and the story often doesn’t flow, but this story has a charm and is just so lovable:
Sakisasa and Hatori met in elementary school, Sakisasa ignoring him and not wanting to admit her developing crush on him and Hatori acting loud and outlandish to grab her attention. When they finally do talk, Hatori lets his emotions get the best of him and hurts her. The time skips to middle school, Sakisasa still trying to avoid Hatori and her feelings because she feels someone like her doesn’t suite him. Hatori, despite being popular, only cares about Sakisasa noticing him, but doesn’t want to cause her trouble or hurt her again; he worries that she hates him so much that it’s impossible to even become her friend. Basically, both of them are lovesick idiots who believe that it’s impossible for the other to love them as much as they love them. And misunderstanding and insecurity wreck havoc on their relationship.
Their love is quite captivating, and though in reality two people who don’t talk much shouldn’t be so painfully in love with each other, it fits the idea of the red-string of fate I mentioned in my last post very well. Now one thing that sets this series part from others is that the story is told twice, once from Sakisasa perspective and once more Hatori’s perspective, so you understand what each of them is thinking, feeling, and experiencing very well. It also helps clear up some confuse, at least it did for me. Sometimes I wondered what the hell Hatori was doing, but when I read from his point of view everything made perfect sense. Speaking of Hatori, I really love his character, he’s often dishonest, can’t say what he really wants too, and uses violence, but he’s also a very kind and cheerful boy and he’s love for Sakisasa can’t doubted. Expect by Sakisasa of course. She’s very insecure about herself when it comes to Hatori; every other time she’s a quiet, mature, composed, and talented honor student. It’s only when it comes to her love that she belittles herself and becomes timid. Hatori’s the same way though, his usual confidence fading when it comes to Sakisasa. They really are lovesick
Since their first meeting, they haven't stopped
thinking about each otehr
idiots, overjoyed when they realize their feelings are mutual. It’s a short story, only 4 chapters long; the art isn’t amazing but the story is great. There’s also a cute oneshot at the end about a girl rather similar to Sakisasa. That’s the only that really bothers me about this author, all her couples are particularly the same: a calm, rather shy female lead and a happy-go-lucky male lead that’s desperately in love with her. I don’t really care for these copies of Hatori and Sakisasa, but I love the couple in this extra. That’s all for now, bye-bye

Roy Kim Love Love Love MV and Album Review

Hey its Ms. Lee Min Ho so today I am not going to review a drama. Today I’m reviewing a Korean artist; he is freaking amazing and I fell in love with his voice and song as soon as I heard him. So I am reviewing Roy Kim’s new song and album Love Love Love. The music video came out on June 24, 2013 but his album came out on June 23, 2013. I freaked out when I saw the teaser for his album and music video he is just so amazing.
So let’s first talk about Roy Kim so bit. So he was born on July 3, 1993, so it’s almost his birthday!!!! His home town is Gangnam, Seoul Korea. I think for university he came to South Caroline here in the U.S but not sure. He wSuperstar K. After that he made his debut on November 30, 2012. So, when I first found out about him was not so long ago with his music video Bom Bom Bom. I clicked on the song thinking it was Yoon Shi-yoon who plays Enrique in the drama Flower Boy Next Door. But, when I saw the video it wasn’t him at all but I kept on watching it and fell in love with the music video and Roy Kim I felt that the song was made for me. I felt that someone read my mind and wrote a song that just made me feel super happy since then I couldn’t stop listening to Roy Kim. I also showed it to Nadeshiko-chan and she also loved him and loved the song as well. We both think that he is a very talented and awesome person. So around last week his teaser for his new album came out and every song sounded astonishing well the preview of all the songs. Then the teaser for his music video came out and I freaked out I flipped out. So, my thoughts on his new song Love Love Love and mv was that it was freaking adorable again I felt that the song was made just for me. Huhhhh Roy Kim you know me so well hahaha. What made the video so great was that his fans were actually in it and he had little concerts for them which I thought was super cute. I also loved the parts were he was in a truck and he had his little couch and he was just singing while being driven everywhere. The song was just so cute it is about his love and how much he loves her that is practically it even though the music video didn’t really talk about what the song was saying I felt he was just saying he loves his fans that’s why he held mini concerts for them and also they were technically his love interest in the music video. Overall the video was just cute and amazing I am going to totally watch it again. So, let’s talk about his album I heard it all on Youtube and again it sound super cute and mellow. The album totally fits Roy Kim’s style. My favorite song is Grandpa's Camera it’s just so calming and nice; just love it. His whole album is just amazing and it’s exactly what I expected with Roy Kim so I am not disappointed at all.
as the winner of a show called
I give Roy Kim’s new MV and album a 10 out of 10 monohorns because it is just marvelous and it fits Roy Kim so well and he didn’t do something that just wasn’t him in his album. He did a perfect job and you could see he worked hard on his album and it came out being wonderful. If you like Roy Kim I’m pretty sure you are going to like his album. If you want something calming and mellow this is just for you. If you haven’t checked out Roy Kim yet what are you doing go and hear his lovely songs. Keep up the hard work Roy Kim I hope I hear more of your songs in the future and I will hopefully always be your Fan. I feel that this blog was just talking more about how great Roy Kim is instead of actually reviewing him. FIGHTING ROY KIM!!!!!!!! Ooo ya something else that I love about him is that his name is easy to remember and easy to pronounce how much better can he get hahaha. Thanks for reading my review BYE!!!!!!!!!! Please check out my last blog which was about the Japanese drama Switch Girl.

Question of the Day: What is your favorite song of Roy Kim’s new album? Please leave a comment answering this question and a comment on your thoughts of Roy Kim thanks.

MARS by Soryo Fuymi

Rei and Kira
Konnichiwa~
Today I’ll be reviewing one of my absolute favorite mangas! One of the best melodramas and romances I've read! It’s pretty well known, but for those who haven’t read or haven’t heard of it, I recommend to just stop reading this right now and start reading Mars by Soryo Fuyimi! Its 15 volumes and completely scanlated. Anyway, this amazing manga follows the story of Kira Aso and Rei Kashino, two teens who seem to be from different worlds; the artistic, shy, and quiet Kira is ostracized from the rest of her class while Rei is the center of attention as the school’s popular and lovable bad boy. But they are strangely drawn to each other, even though they don’t accept the fact right away. As the story continues, it is revealed they’re both dealing with major psychological traumas. Kira with her father dying in a car accident and her fear of men, rooted from the years she spent with a sexually abusive stepfather. Then there’s Rei with his complex childhood and the blame he puts on himself for his twin brother’s mysterious suicide. On top of that, there’s his love of racing motorcycles, which constantly worries Kira and his father. Both characters are complex, realistic, and live in the gray zone of society, but they look at each others wounds and accept each other, doing what every they can to comfort and heal the other. The love between them is bewitchingly passionate, both them nearly falling apart once when they had a particular dramatic fight and broke up for, well a day I think. There’s the old story are the red-string of fate and how everyone is tied to their fated lover by this red string, and I think these two are definitely a fated pair, the need and desire each other, no one else can even compare to their loved one.
Rei loves his motorcycles and Kira is teh first person
he's ever let ride on it with him
It’s been made into a Taiwanese drama, but I haven’t seen it yet. Every time I try, I end up stopping and reading the manga. Anyway, the plot is captivating the art makes it even better; I just love classic1990s manga art, it’s simply charming. Fuyumi-sensei really knows how to express emotions like pain, fear, love, and happiness. You can truly understand what Kira and Rei are feeling and the pain they’ve experienced through her art. I highly recommend this 1990s classic, its story and characters both unique and in no way a cutesy little shoujo manga, not by long shot with its dark pasts, violence, suicides, and psychopaths.

Switch Girl Review

So, todays review is a Japanese Drama called Switch girl. There is a manga with the same name as it. The drama has 8 episodes and each episode is less them 50 minutes long. It also has a second season to it which came out last year at the beginning of December. The first season of this drama started on December 24.
The show is about this girl who is loved by her whole school and she is also a model. But, when she gets home she is the total opposite. She is messy, a big slob, and doesn’t care how she looks her name is Tamiya Nika. At school she meets a big nerd and at her apartment complex she meets a handsome guy; then she realizes that it’s the same guy his name is Arata. They both know each other secrets so from there on they start to get really close and Nika starts having a crush on him.
I completely hated the drama I didn’t like it at all and I couldn’t even finish watching it. It is pretty funny at times at did like the way Nika acted who is played by Nishiuchi Mariya that’s really the only part I liked about the drama which was that it was really humorous but the rest I hated and even the comical parts still got me annoyed. Arata played by Kiriyama Renn wears these glasses at school and doesn’t wear them at home; I just thought that was really dumb. People are going to notice you out of school if you wear glasses or not you won’t look that different. If someone doesn’t notice you at all without the glasses then they are freaking stupid. There were some serious parts like; when Arata started dating someone else I don’t remember who and Nika was really sad, they acted pretty well only on that part. But overall they over acted everything which I hate even though it adds some humor but it got annoying afterwards. The part in which I ended was when I think Arata was at a hotel with the girl and I just couldn’t keep on watching, it was just terrible.
I give this drama a 2 out of 10 Monohorns I give it a 2 because it did make me laugh at parts and there was a little serious part which I liked. But, overall I didn’t like the drama at all their acting was too much and it seemed they were trying too hard to make the drama funny which didn’t work I just got frustrated. I would not recommend this drama to no body. That’s if you want to watch a dumb and funny drama then maybe you want to watch this one. I will never watch this again and I am not going to watch the second season. Well that’s it for today I hope you enjoyed my review please check out my previous review which was about  Asuko March. Thanks and bye bye!!!!!!!!! O

Daily Butterflies

Konnichiwa~
On this lovely evening, I’ll be reviewing Hibi Chouchou by Morishita Suu, a refreshing love story with two very shy and quite main characters. It is an ongoing series with currently 3 volumes in Japan and 27 chapters scanlated online. Alright let’s begin:
Suiren Shibazeki is an extremely cute girl who hates the attention she receives because of her beauty. When she was in elementary school, she was bullied by the immature boys who liked her; because of this she isn’t sure how to deal with boys and decided to go to an all girl school for middle school. But oddly enough she had a huge fan base there, girls being in love with her cuteness and getting annoyingly excited whenever she talked and smiled. Because of them, she began talking less and less and her expressions slowly disappeared. So the 16 year old Suiren that enters high school is a quiet, shy, and stoic beauty that quickly becomes the center of attention among the boys, gaining the nickname Takane no Hana, or “Flower on a High Peak”, since many boys see her as something beautiful and delicate that can only be admired from a far. But among the boys that stare at her, Suiren notices one that never looks: Kouha Kawasumi. He’s a karate junkie and an extremely talented one at that, being able to easily defeat 3 attackers at the same time. He’s childhood friend and best friend Ryosuke says that since he spends some much time training, he isn’t really good with girls and average immature teenage boy stuff. He’s very quiet, mature, and rather noble: his first encounter with Suiren was when he saved her and her belongings from an upperclassman that was trying to hit on her. He’s also seen standing up for others on several other occasions. He can also be very brusque, best shown through his interactions with Ryosuke.
Anyway, after their first meeting these two develop an interest in each other. Slowly and shyly, these two are getting closer and their feelings for each are growing.
I was worried that this since both of these two are so quiet, it be a very slow romance, which I have low tolerance for, but despite there shyness this pair makes progress. The author does a great job of developing
their relationship, despite the lack of words that pass between them. Her art is also quite lovely, especially her blush-expressions. I also love the fact that even though expression-wise Suiren is stoic, she’s actually quite emotional on the inside and the author is able to expression the depth of those emotions without having Suiren change her expression too much.  Anyway, despite both of them being quiet, their interactions are adorable, both of them nervous and flustered, wondering what they should do and what the other thinks of them. A charming story of a blossoming love between a quiet girl and a quiet boy.

Asuko March Review

Hey so today I’m going to review
Asuko March. This is a Japanese drama it started on April 24, 2011 through July 3, 2011. It is based on a manga with the same name as the show and the show is about 50 minutes long and only has 9 episodes. I really enjoyed this drama more than I thought I would.
Nao Yoshino is entering high school and entered and technical high school called Asuko. She entered this school after failing her entrance exam to an all-girl school which she always wished to enter. She lives with her grandfather and he always told her how amazing the school Asuko was but never told her that it was an all-boys school. She and another 2 girls were the only girls in that school but one ended up leaving so it was only 2 girls left. As she enters the school she hates it and all the boys around her end up disliking her. But, throughout the drama you see her getting use to the school and getting to know amazing people and maybe falling in love.

When I started this drama I thought I was going to hate it because one girl in a all-boys school; it didn’t sound too good for me. I thought that this drama was just going to be perverted and the acting was just going to be exaggerated but I was so wrong. The drama was just so amazing and I really ended up liking it. What I really liked was that at the end Nao Yoshino played by Emi Takei actually got a long with all the guys and she started to really befriend them but then when all the guys found out that she was going to transfer they got mad at her. They started accepting the idea of her moving especially after realizing that she was  a really good person they were just upset that she was moving and thought that she was going to forget about them but then they started to want the best for her. One of my favorite characters was Makoto Tamaki played by Kento Kaku at first he was kind of annoying because he really disliked Nao Yoshino because he knew that she didn’t want to be in the school and he just saw her as more of a bother. But, he started to fall for her because he noticed that she really did care for others. I was hoping so much that Nao Yoshino was going to like him as well and it did seem in the begin that she started liking him but stuff happened . Then there is also Yujin Yokoyama played by Tori Matsuzaka who was a host and Noa Yoshino ended up liking him especially that they almost kissed the first time that they meet. My second favorite character was Satomi Hirose played by Takuya Ishida. The reason I really liked him was that he looks like a super strong guy but he was so gentle and he really liked Momo Aizawa played by Ayame Gouriki who was the second girl in school. He made a music box for her which I thought was the cutest thing ever but she was such a jerk and just made fun of his gift. I got tremendously mad and I got so frustrated; he ended up breaking the box and Nao Yoshino was so nice and rebuilt thebox for him I really liked those episodes. The character I hated the most was Momo she was so annoying the only reason she was in that school was to slut around with the guys and wanted the guys to make her feel pretty and also because she was bullied by other girls in her middle school. Yoshino tried making friends with her and treated her nice but Aizawa was such a bitch and just treated her rudely. Over all I really enjoyed this drama but the only thing I didn’t like was that Nao Yoshino always did everything right I felt that she should have done one thing wrong so she wouldn’t look super perfect and so people could see that she is an unperfected person and she can’t fix every problem that comes her way.

I give this drama an 8 out of 10 monohorns. I give it this rating because Aizawa was able to fix all her problems and everyone else’s which I felt that they should have just added one episode in which she knew should couldn’t fix that problem but everyone still accepted her. I know it sounds odd but I hate perfect characters that could fix every problem.  I also wish that she ended up liking Tamaki because you could see throughout the episodes that he really cared about her and I just feel in love with him. But I do recommend this drama to anybody who really wants to see something about friendship, love, and one girl in an all-boys school. Please leave a comment answering this question: What are your favorite Japanese dramas?. Thanks and bye!!!!! and please leave a comment about your opinion on this drama thanks ones again.

Hajimari No Niina

Niina when she was 10 years old
Konnichiwa~
Nadeshiko-chan here to review Hajimari No Niina by Minamori Koyomi, a manga I was rather skeptical about when I began and that I quickly fell in love with! This adorable and tragic manga touched my heart and made me cry as I watched the leads struggle with their past and their feelings. The art is lovely, one of the reasons I was so drawn to it in the first place. Minamori Koyomi is truly able to show the emotions of the characters, I especially love her crying and blushing faces, much more gently drawn than other mangas I’ve seen. Anyway the only thing I think some people may have an issue with is the age difference, which I didn’t mind too much, which may be weird after my Bunny Drop post. But considering the supernatural and unrealistic circumstances, it doesn’t seem very odd to me:
16 year old Niina
Niina is a 10-year old girl who has just moved into a new neighborhood. When she arrives she runs into 25-year old Atsurou, triggering her memories of her past life. In her past life, she was girl named Chitose, Atsurou’s childhood friend and girlfriend during middle school. Unfortunately, she died at 15 after she saving a pregnant woman from falling down the stairs, managing to save the woman and the baby, but leaving behind Atsurou and her unfulfilled promises to him. Niina, who falls in love with him almost immediately, decides to try and fulfill those promises and heal the wounds caused by her past self. This is why I think some people might feel uncomfortable, which is only natural considering she is a child and he is an adult. But I think many people will move past that once they see Niina’s seriousness and her love for him. She is child-like, yet very mature in certain aspects because she has these memories of her past life and is seriously in love with him; her feelings are neither immature nor shallow. Atsurou cherishes her, rejecting her first confession at 11 with seriousness and respect. His feelings don’t really become romantic until she’s 16, and by then it’s hinted that he may know about her being the reincarnation of Chitose.
Niina and Atsurou
Originally, it was supposed to be only 1 volume, but it became 4 volumes, but its only complete in Japan. It’s currently scanlated to volume 3 chapter 12 right now. The chapters in volume 2 center more around Niina meeting Chitose younger brother, who is now an adult and her teacher. Niina sees her old family and is guilt-ridden when she realizes the effect Chitose’s death has had on them. Though she accepts her old memories, she wants to live as herself, not her past self, but she feels she has to do something to comfort the family she left behind. Then the chapters in volume 3 mainly focus of Niina and Atsurou tackling problems and insecurities that natural occur in relationships, especially ones with such a large age gap.  It’s a wonderful story with lovely art and I highly recommend catching up and waiting with me for the next chapter in this heart-warming shoujo romance.

Shut Up Flower Boy Band Review

Hello its Ms. Lee Min ho, so today I’m reviewing Shut Up Flower Boy Band. The drama came out on January 30, 2013 through March 20, 2013. It has 16 episodes and each one is about 50 minutes long. I really loved this drama it was so adorable.
Shut Up Flower Boy Band is about a group of 6 guys who have their own rock band that is called Eye Candy. Byung Hee the main singer of the band has a dream to be able to become famous one day but some unfortunate events happen that he couldn’t really fulfill his dream. The groups of guys end up having to transfer to a new school so they end up going to a rich type of school. In the school they are practically hated by everyone especially another band called Strawberry field who becomes their enemy. But they end up meeting a girl named Im Soo Ah. Byung Hee considered her his muse and falls in love with her immediately. Kwon Ji Hyuk, Byung Hee’s best friend doesn’t really like her at first. Many things happen in this drama especially in the first episodes that you don’t expect at all. This drama is based on friendship and romance also everything is being tested between friends and love interests.
First off this drama was so freaking good. I didn’t expect that I would like it as much as I did. The soundtrack was just so good and I’m listening to it right now. The second episode was just so amazing and I freaked out. (SPOILER ALERT) I was so mad when Byung Hee played by Lee Min-Ki got ran over and the freaking Strawberry field people beat him up ahhhhh so mad. As, the episode was ending and he got ran over I kind of started laughing because I didn’t think it was real until I saw the third episode. Then, when I saw it I started crying because he actually passed away and I think people will get attach to the character so much because I did. (END OF SPOILER). I also thought that the relationship between Kwon Ji Hyuk played by Sung Joon and Soo Ah played by Jo Bo-Ah was just so cute especially when he is singing to her through the phone I just loved that. I also loved the relationship between Lee Hyun Soo played by L who is in the kpop group infinite with Ye-Rim playing herself and the song they sing was so cute it is called Like U Love U so cute. I can’t find anything that I actually hated about this drama well only Jung Ma-Ro who was a total jerk to everyone. His face just annoyed me I really disliked him and just wanted to kill him not really but still got in my nerves. I think everyone acted so well especially Lee Mi-Ki I wish I was able to see more of him I just loved how happy go lucky his character was. He really stood out for me from all the characters.

I give this drama a 9 out of 10 monohorns I give it this rating because I didn’t really liked how it ended because at the end the band failed and nobody really became famous except for L. I understood that it wasn’t everyone’s dream to be in a band towards the end but I wish they had more fame. I felt that they just gave up on what they liked. But overall I liked everything about it and it had awesome bromance. I just love dramas that have broamance like School 2013. And, it had perfect amount of cute romance. So if you want to see a drama about high school, band music, bromance, and romance this drama is for you and you better watch it. This drama does not have the same plot of flower boy next door and flower boy raymun shop. People always ask me if they are all about the same thing but they are not maybe the same person created all of them I don’t know. So thanks for reading my review please check out my previous blog which was about Akai Ito. Thanks!!!!!

The Black Cage Princess and the Yearning King

Konbawa~
Today I’m going to be reviewing the oneshot Kuroorihime to Kawaki no Ou by Kusanagi Mizuho. Oneshots are usually cliché shoujo romances with average or below average art, which doesn't make them bad, they’re usually still cute and entertaining. Anyway, there are exceptions and Kurrorihime to Kawaki no Ou is one of them: the art is beautiful and elegant, fitting the story quite well. Alright, so Setia is the princess of small clan known as the Ulfa clan. They are a rather weak clan and the bloodline is beginning to disappear, so her parents decide to marry her to a wealthier prince. Their wish is for her to continue their bloodline and to become a happy bride. But on the journey to her fiancée’s kingdom, her traveling party is attacked by bandits. Setia witnesses everyone’s murder, including her parents, and is the sole survivor of the incident. While digging a grave for her parents, the powerful King Azurite and his traveling party meet her. Intrigued by this blood stained bride, he decides to take to his castle. It seems like a rather nice gesture, except for the fact that she doesn't want to be there. She wishes to meet her fiancée and fulfill her parent’s final wish for her. She constantly tries to escape, which doesn't bother the tyrant king who enjoys capturing her and toying with her.
There first meeting
The characters are very well-developed for an oneshot, Setia a strong, bold, and honest/direct protagonist and Azurite a selfish, cruel, ruthless king. And both of them suffer a loneliness, a feeling that they have to take care of themselves. And Azurite, who has a dangerous reputation, seems to become childish and rather bratty around Setia. Though he does do some things that make you think you should hate him, you can’t help but like him and empathize with him. As Setia comes to understand him, the reader comes to understand him. Its really great writing and a wonderful story, so I highly recommend stopping what you’re doing and reading it, it’s only a oneshot after all. An amazing oneshot, but still not very time consuming

Akai Ito Review

Kon'nichiwa; todays review is going to be about a Japanese drama that I absolutely loved. It is called Akai Ito. It started on December 6, 2008 and ended on February 28, 2009. It has 11 episodes and each episode is about 50 minutes long. So, it’s a pretty fast watch in my opinion well compared to Korean Dramas.
The drama revolves around Takemiya Mei and Nishino Atsushi. They first meet when they were little as Takemiya was buying her birthday cake and oddly enough it was also his birthday. Also, they were both born on Leap year so their Birthday only comes every few years. So, after that meet they never see each other again until they get into high school and they meet again. They become friends and realize that they actually meet when they were small. They kind of start going out but then they break up for reasons and Mei ends up really heartbroken. Throughout the whole drama you get to know each character better and you see how even though Takemiya and Nishino go through many things they are meant to be. This drama was based the best-selling novels of 2007 I think the novel has the same name. The whole drama mostly revolves around the red string of fate.
The show was just perfect for me. I love tragic romances and this was just it for me. I seriously was crying when the drama ended. So, many things happened to Mei, Atsushi, and especially their friends. I had so many emotions throughout all of it especially when Takahashi Riku who is play by Kimura Ryo was going out with Mei and the way he treated her got me so mad but in the end he did something so nice that it was just so hard to hate him even though he really hurt Mei. Nakagawa Sara who is played by Sakuraba Nanami was one of my favorite characters. She was a Lolita and she had a big crush on Riku but she did something that I felt was so dumb and she shouldn’t have done. I felt that she should have actually talked to Mei to figure out things instead of doing what she did.  But the concept of the red string of fate was something that I really loved. Throughout the whole drama you see that Takemiya Mei played by Minamisawa Nao and Nahino Atsushi played by Mizobata Junpei were meant to be even though they had to go through many obstacles. Even if someone doesn’t see each other for some time that doesn’t mean they aren’t meant to be. I remember watching Sky of Love a Japanese movie and drama and Hiro’s sister told Mika if you guys are meant to be you would come across the same path in the future. I felt that; that line fit in so well with both dramas and it was so sweet. Throughout watching Akai ito I just thought about that line. Everyone did such an amazing job they portrayed their characters  so well and brought out so many emotions out of me.

I give this drama a 10 out of 10 monohorns because I found this drama so perfectly made; well for me. I just loved it so much and I would totally see this show again. If you want a high school, romance, and tragedy type of thing to watch this would be perfect for you. Well Sayōnara and see you next time please check out my last post which was about Answer Me 1997. Thanks!!!

Usagi Drop: Delightful and Disturbing

Daikihi and young Rin: a
heartwarming picture of a father
and his daughter
~Konnichiwa~
Nadeshiko-chan here and since yesterday was father’s day, I’ll be reviewing Bunny Drop by Unita Yumi, a manga with one of the best yet worst father: Daikihi. I have very mixed feelings on this josei and to be honest I’m not quite sure I’d recommend. Oh yeah, by the way, this was my very first josei! And it sure was memorable. Anyway, lets begin my explanation of this odd little manga:
Daikihi is a 30-year-old bachelor and an overgrown teenager of a man He’s just found out that his grandfather is dead and travels back to his hometown for the funeral. When he arrives, Daikihi and his family are shocked to discover that the old man had an illegitimate love child. On top of that, it was with a much younger woman, she’s in her 20s I believe. Rin is the name of this child and catches Daikihi’s attention since she’s a rather quiet little girl and obviously completely helpless: she doesn’t know anyone in the family, her mother abandoned her after the death of the grandfather, and she must cope with the death of her father at such a young age. Daikihi seems to be the only one sensitive to this little girl’s feeling and is outraged when he sees how his family only sees her as an embarrassment, not wanting anything to do with her. In a fit of angry spontaneity, he declares he’s going to take care her himself. The first 6 volumes are adorable, Daikihi and Rin making an adorable father-daughter pairing, Daikihi being rather immature for a parent and Rin being pretty mature and independent for a 6 year old. It’s really funny and rather heartwarming watching Daikihi try to figure out parenthood and the proper way to raise Rin; Rin really becomes a big part of his life and he admits that all the sacrifices he’s makes for her are definitely worth it. Daikihi’s relationship with Yukari Nitani, a single mother, also keeps the manga interesting for those romantics; plus they also have the adorable friendship between Rin and Yukari’s son Kouki. In fact in volume 5, the manga fast-forwards to when the two are in high school, and you can see the Kouki definitely wants to be more than friends. You can’t help but root for Kouki as he tries to win Rin’s heart, realizing the mistakes he made in the past.
Childhood friends Rin and Kouki, aren't they precious?
But then you read volume 7 and 8 come, and cute little josei becomes chillingly disturbing. Try to guess what sick twist Unita Yumi came up with? Have Rin fall in love, not with Kouki, or even the smart boy from her class, no, she has Rin fall in love Daikihi! What the heck?! And like an idiot, I kept reading, I hoping that maybe because Daikihi was the first stable thing in her life, she only thought she was in love with him because of the drama going on with Kouki and meeting her mother. But that’s not the case; at some point, even Kouki’s and her mother are supporting her! At least they made it slightly less disgusting by revealing that Rin isn’t actually the grandfather’s daughter, but rather his adopted daughter; Rin’s mom had gotten pregnant and he had volunteered to help raise Rin. But this only makes it slightly less disturbing though since we still have the huge age difference and the fact that Daikihi is practically Rin’s father! What made me even madder was that Daikihi, noble, kind-hearted father-figure Daikihi, actually accepts her feelings! They get together after her graduation, I felt so sick and disappointed in both in them. This adorable manga became something so creepy.
I don’t really think Rin loves Daikihi romantically, nor do I believe that Daikihi really loves Rin romantically. I feel Rin, after the abandonment of her mother and death of her “father” grew too emotionally dependent on Daikihi, so as graduation and such came, she became scared of leaving him and all the new changes she’d have to face; she took the concerns she had about Daikihi getting older and romance as a way to stay with him, to have things stay exactly as they were. Then there’s Daikihi, who never really says he loves Rin and even tells her that she can leave him for a younger boy whenever she wants, not to worry about him. Never says “I love you”, just that he’ll be with her. He just doesn’t look like he really see her as a lover, I think he’s just worried about Rin and doing what she wants or something, I’m not really sure.
Teenage Kouki and Rin
Anyway, because of the creepiness of volumes 7-10, I can’t really recommend this manga. And I know what you’re thinking, if I thought it was so disturbing, why I would read all 10 volumes. Well technically I only read to 9, but anyway I’m stubborn and was idiotically hopeful that something was going to change. But when I got to 9 and Rin tells Daikihi she wants them to have a baby and make them as happy as Daikihi made her, I realized it was futile and stopped. . I’ve recently discovered they’ve made into a drama and to be honest I’m a little curious; I’ve done a little research and I think its about their original father-daughter relationship, which I love and would love to see as a drama adaption. I’m a little hesitant though, worried they’ll thrown in some creepy wedding between them at the end. If I end up watching it I’ll post, but anyway the first 4 volumes of the parent-child relationship are adorable and I highly recommend reading those and stopping. Volumes 5-6 are okay since you think Kouki will eventually win Rin’s heart and you could read those chapters, but it’s not as enjoyable when you know Rin’s going to choose her father-figure over her childhood friend, whom she shared her first kiss with and whom she even admitted was her first love. Anyway the arts okay, having a rather unique style compared to other shoujo and josei mangas, so I think you’d have fun reading those first few volumes. But don’t be foolish like me and keep going, it’ll only bring disappointment, anger, and sickness.
You have been warned.

Answer Me 1997 review

Hello I am back with another review about a Korean Drama called Answer Me 1997. This show came out in July 24, 2012 through Sep 18, 2012. The length of every episode is about 40-50 minutes and it has only has 16 episodes.
Answer Me 1997 is based on 6 former high school students. They all go back to their high school reunion and just meet up with all of their past classmates. The drama goes from the present back to the past to 1997 were they are remembering their high school years. The drama is mainly based on Sung Shi Won who is a major H.O.T fan girl. Yoon Yoon Jae is her childhood friend who starts to have a big crush on her but she doesn't really realize it. Yoon Yoon Jea has an older brother Yoon Tae Woong he was to get married to Sung Shi Won’s older sister but many things happen.  Mo Yoo Jung is Shi Won's best friend and she ends up liking the enemy of the group H.O.T and ends up liking the new boy in school who is kind of shy around girls and who sells pornography to his classmates his name is Do Hak Chan. Kang Joon Hee is gay and he has a secret crush on Yoon Yoon Jae. Lastly Lee Shi Un who just really wants a girlfriend and doesn't really care about school. So, in the whole drama we see the ups and downs of their friendships and relationships and see them grow up until their present life.
I loved this drama it was really wonderful. At, first I was really hesitant to watch it, it just didn’t seem good and I just thought they it was going to be a suicidal type of drama and it was going to be really depressing. But, after watching it, it was totally the opposite of what I thought. It had many funny and sad moments. I loved how Shi Won who is played by Jung Eun Ji who is from the kpop group A Pink and in the show is a big fan girl. I felt that many kpop lovers who freak out for their favorite groups could relate to her. The thing that made it amusing was that she was a sengsang fan which is a crazy stalker fan. She cut herself to write a letter for Tony with her own blood and she also stayed many nights outside of Tony’s house waiting for him.  I felt bad for Yoon Yoon Jae who is played by Seo  In Guk because he was always bullied and made fun of by Shi Won and he was practically in love with her but she was so oblivious to it. I felt that she had the same feelings for him too but she never really realized it. My favorite character was Joon Hee who is played by Hoya who is from the kpop group Infinite he was gay but no one really realized it until the end and he had unrequired love for Yoon Jea. He had to suffer a lot seeing his love being in love one of his closest friends.  I really liked the couple of Do Hak Chan who is played by Eun Ji Won who was in a really famous kpop group in the 90s called Sechs Kies and Bang Sung Jae played by Lee Shi Un. There is a scene were Shi Un is crying in the bus then Hak Chan appears and consoles her awkwardly but it’s very cute. The only thing that I did have a problem with is with Yoon Jae’s older brother who was after Shi Won and that really creeped me out and got on my nervous.

I give this drama a 9 out of 10 monohorns. The reason I don’t give it a perfect score is that the older brother liking his younger brothers love and actually going after her really got in my nervous. I wish the drama didn't add that. I felt that they could have done it with another guy who wasn't Yoon Yoon Jae’s older brother who also wasn't a teacher when they were in high school. But, I really loved the rest it really did have some serious moments with the older brother and I also liked that they made many references to the 90s. I feel that anyone would like this especially if you want something humorous with some romance. That’s all I need to say see you next time. Heart no Kumi no Alice

~Konnichiwa
Today on this wonderful Friday afternoon, I will be reviewing Alice in the Country of Hearts, also known as Heart no Kumi no Alice written by QuinRose and art by Hoshino Soumei. The manga is based on a girly, but surprisingly bloody otome game, which alludes to Lewis Carroll’s classic Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.
Hearts: Ace; Alice; Peter; Viva
Alice Liddell is a young maiden who is overshadowed by her older sister’s grace and beauty, her ex-boyfriend even dumped her because he fell in love with her. Despite this, she loves her sister very much. After her mother died, her father buried himself in work and her younger sister called her a monster for not crying at the funeral, but her older sister always loved and cared for her. Because of this, she is Alice’s most precious person. Then one day, while she’s trying to take a nice nap in her garden, she’s kidnapped unwillingly by a mysterious man with white hair, red eyes, and white rabbit ears and is taken to Wonderland. Once they arrive, he forces her to drink a medicine. He introduces himself as Peter White and  Castle of
explains that whoever drinks this medicine, must participate in the game, therefore she can’t leave. After he leaves, she meets Julius, a clock repairer, who tells her the one and only way she might be able to return to her world; he gives her the empty vile the medicine had been in and tells her she needs to interact and spend time with the strange people in Wonderland, this will slowly refill the vile. Once it’s full, she needs to drinks it and should be able to return to her world. Thus Alice begins exploring this Wonderland and soon learns that the world is split into various countries and she is currently in the Country of Hearts. The country is divided into three main territories:

The Castles of Hearts: Ruled by the Queen of Hearts Vivaldi with the assistance of Prime Minister Peter White and Knight of Hearts Ace.

Amusement Park: Boris; Alice; Julius; Gowland

Then there is the Hatter Mansion, headquarters of Wonderland’s mafia dubbed “The Hatters”. The leader is Blood Dupre. There also lives his second-in-command Eliot March and the gatekeepers Tweedledee and Tweedledum.
Lastly there is the Amusement Park, run by Duke Mary Gowland with the help from the energetic Cheshire Cat, also known as Boris.
All three territories are at war with each other, the only neutral area being the Clock Tower Plaza where Julius lives. Every character in these 3 regions have a role in the game. Everyone else in Wonderland is faceless, background characters in this game. If one of the role players die, Wonderland takes one of these faceless characters to replace them, so that the game can continue.
Overall I really enjoyed watching Alice interact with all these different characters and learning more and more about how Wonderland and this game works. The art is also quite nice, a lot of inking was done for thick black lines and details. I suppose its rather unique since its based off the art done for a otome game.
Hatter Mansion: Elliot; Alice; Blood; Dee and Dum

The characters are all interesting, Alice being very outspoken and sometimes rather cynical, and her interactions with the citizens of and her adventures in the Country of Hearts are really entertaining, especially seeing how Alice, as an outsider, affects them. There’s just one thing that bothers me: how Alice’s treats Peter. I understand that Peter made a horrible first impression on her, being the one that kidnapped her, but 2 other characters attempted to kill her and she forgave them! Peter is madly in love with Alice and brought her to Wonderland so that she could be happy; he didn’t care about her returning his feelings, he just wanted to protect Alice’s happiness. But he can’t help but feel hurt as he watches Alice get along with everyone else, expect him. It makes me so sad, he loves her so much and would do anything for her, but Alice doesn’t seem to understand how serious he is. I suppose you’re wondering how Peter even fell in love with Alice,

being from separate worlds. Well it’s implied that he’s somehow connected to Alice’s older sister and he once tells her that if she tried really hard, she’d remember him and how important he was to her. She almost remembers him, but the task cause her a great deal of pain so Peter tells her to stop, that it’s okay if she doesn’t remember. My guess is that after her mother’s death, Alice spent her days with her sister and Peter and they were both precious to her. But that’s just my guess, and I really don’t have a lot of evidence to back it up either. Well besides poor Peter, the manga is a great read and I recommend it. There’s also a movie out, which I’m hoping to watch and review soon. Bye-Bye
