Sky of Love Drama Review

Hey it’s Ms. Lee Min Ho and today I will be reviewing the Japanese drama version of Sky of Love. The movie and manga were just incredible. The drama didn’t really fallow the manga so it kind of annoyed me but it was still good and amazing. The drama came out a year after the movie; it came out on August 2, 2008 and ended on September 13, 2008. It has only 6 episodes and it less than 50 minutes long. The drama was good and I did get emotional as I saw it but the movie was way better.
Mika is a high school student and you could consider her a goody two shoes type of girl. She went to a class to see a boy that her best friend liked as she saw the boy she bumped into a boy named Hiro. Hiro from nowhere kissed her as she went back to the class. She never imaged that her first kiss would be Hiro a bad boy type. Her friends tell her to go out with another boy from her class that likes her. As they were on a date, Hiro saw them and gets jealous. He ends up taking her away from the date and from there many things start changing for Mika and they must overcome many obstacles together.
The drama was good but not great I feel that they made changes that they shouldn’t have made. Like Mika going out with another guy, in the beginning and Hiro kissing her right away. I felt that it took away the romance that the original story had.  They should have left the beginning how it was. I also thought that the drama was going to cover more things that the movie couldn’t cover from the manga. I was disappointed that they didn’t wish it did. Even though many things were changed, I still felt the pain that Mika who was played by Erean Mizusawa and Hiro who was played by Koji Seto had to go through. At first I wasn’t too excited to watch the drama because Koji Seto just didn’t seem like the type to play Hiro. I felt that his image is to weak for Hiro. He ended up blowing me away and actually doing a good job but I still wish that they would have gotten someone else to play him.  Koji Seto did a good job she did feel like a Mika I will always prefer the original Mika though.  I really hated that they didn’t add the part where they had the whole conversation over the phone during the summer. I felt that’s when they both started feeling something for each other. In the drama It seemed that they just rushed it and Hiro feel in love with her without even knowing who she was. It still did have the important parts of the manga and movie which actually made Mika grow and the viewer’s love and hate Hiro. I really liked the end for the drama a little more than the end of the movie because she ended up having a daughter and in the manga they showed her pregnant. In the movie that wasn’t added which they should have. It is a super important part from the manga. But I really enjoyed it; everyone should watch and read Sky of Love it’s truly an emotional and amazing story line.
I give the drama a 8 out of 10 monohorns because many of the parts that I liked were changed which really made me not love the drama compared to the movie.  I really liked it though and it made me sad as well as happy. If you watched the movie first you will be a bit disappointed but if you haven’t read or even watched the movie then I feel that you will really enjoy it. That’s all I have to say please check out my pervious review which was  Sky of Love Movie Review . Thank you so much bye.

Question: Which version of Sky of Love did you like more?

I personally liked the movie over the drama but if it’s over everything the movie, manga, and drama I preferred the manga. I preferred the manga because it goes more in depth into Mika’s story and its more touching.

Couldn't find a good trailer sorry.

Sky of Love Manga Review

Hiro and Mika
Konbanwa~
Ms. Lee Min Ho went over the Sky of Love movie, now I’m going to go over the Sky of Love manga that it was based off. By the way, the manga was based of a book that Mika wrote. She’s also considered the author of the manga, the art is done by Haneda Ibuki, who did a fantastic job. Her inking is wonderful, it gives off a very classic manga feel even though it was made in 2007. It suites the “slice of life” genre and time period the story takes place very well. Anyway. As a manga, Sky of Love is a josei and is 10 volumes complete in Japan and has been completely scanlated. Me and Ms. LeeMinHo started reading it when it was still being scanlated, we freaked out each time a new chapter came out. We freaked out because this is a beautiful story. Lets begin:
Mika is a cute and timid high school girl and like many high school girls, she dreams about experiencing a wonderful love. Her best friend Aya has the same dream and believes she’s already met her prince, a delinquent named Nozomu. When she attempts to impress him, he goes past her and acquires Mika’s cell phone number. Much to her dismay, he calls her frequently. During summer vacation, he calls her once again, but this time he’s drunk. His friend Hiro takes the phone away and begins talking to Mika. He asks if its okay to call her and the two converse every day. Though Mika doesn't know who Hiro is, she feels calm when she hears his voice and is eager to meet him. When school starts they finally meet. At first she doesn't believe that the voice that put her at ease belongs to the delinquent she was terrified of. But, she understands that he isn't a bad person, that in fact he’s very kind and they begin dating. And the more time they spend together they more in love with each other they become. They experience many sad events and sometimes they hurt each other, but at the end, Mika still feels that her moments with Hiro were one of the most happiest moments of her life. The love story is heartbreaking and beautiful, its hard for me to express how much I loved reading about Mika and Hiro. As a coming-to-age story, its also wonderful. Besides
watching their love story, you also watch Mika grow up: graduating from high school, going to college, and growing up to be someone more independent. Even when the manga ends, you know the story isn't over because Mika is living her life. Its an amazing manga, a wonderful story. The movie is great, but since its just a movie it had to cut a lot of stuff out and rushed developments. I highly recommend watching the movie and then reading the manga. Its just such a beautiful story and I love it so freaking much, really you NEED to read this.

Dear Mika
I know you probably aren't reading this, but if you are, I just want to tell you that me and my friend really admire you. You went through a lot, there were moments where you could have given up and people would've understood, but you didn't give up. You always got up again and continued moving forward. Our dream is to one day, to meet you and give you big hug. I know it'll hard, but I want to make that dream come true! I really love you Mika and I hope you're happy.

Sky of Love Movie Review

Hey, its Ms. Lee Min Ho so today I will be talking about a truly amazing story that made me have so many emotions as I was watching the movie, drama, and even reading the manga. It is a Japanese movie called Sky of Love it came out on November 30, 2007. The whole movie is based on a true story which is something that is important while seeing or reading Sky of Love. The movie brought me to tears and made me really respect the characters.
Mika is in high school she bumps into this guy who has his hair dyed to white and has piercings whose name is Hiro. She really doesn’t like him because she thinks that he is a bad boy. She ends up losing her phone in the library she luckily finds it but she discovers that all her contact is deleted. She then receives a call from a guy and that same guy keeps on calling her every day through her summer break. She becomes really interested in him and wants to really know who he is. The first day of school since summer break comes and they decided to meet up. Mika wears a little bit of makeup to impress him. She sees Hiro who starts approaching her with some flowers. She couldn’t believe it and runs away. After school comes she starts heading home but then realizes that Hiro was planting something she then notices that it was the flowers that he was going to give her. She decides to give him a chance and that he might not be such a bad guy. They end up having an amazing but sad relationship with many obstacles. Are they going to be able to overcome these obstacles?
I absolutely loved this movie; I adored every single part of it. It’s something that I will never ever get tired of watching and a movie that I will always be in tears in no matter what. Yui Aragaki who plays Mika Tahara did an amazing job her acting was just so incredible and believable.  At, first you could say that her character was just a weak girl until she meets Hiro played by Haruma Miura. She starts becoming strong and she is able to overcome the obstacles thrown at her even though she has her times that she wants to quiet. Miura did an incredible job as well I got so attached to his character and I couldn’t believe what happened to him at the end it really had me in so many tears. Even though he is a bad boy to others in the inside he is just caring and will do really anything for Mika. This is just a perfect love story because it doesn’t really put the world as something beautiful it shows the bad and good in relationships. So many things happened to them that really made them grow and become mature people. In the beginning of the relationship Mika ends up sadly getting rapped and when it happened I was so surprised I didn’t expect that to happen. It was something that you would never imagined to happen in a teenage relationship but it did it showed the reality of the world and it didn’t just show the positive.  I loved how caring Hiro was towards Mika and how he only saw her but there is a part of the movie that I just really wish he didn’t do. I understood his intension later on but I felt that he should have told Mika what was happening instead of breaking up with her the way he did. He just made her go through so much pain and he also went through more pain then he already was going through. I really feel that I can’t review this movie as well as I should because so many intense things happened and they are really hard to explain. Also this movie is just too amazing, beautiful, and tragic to give it a great review. I want to remind people who have watched the movie or are going to watch it that it’s based on a true story. Mika and Hiro are real people and all of this really happened to them which just make the whole story sadder. I feel that this film is really hard to hate because Mika is sharing a story of her teenage and young adult life. A story that has so much meaning and importance to her and by doing so she is making herself vulnerable to everyone.  I truly respect the real Mika and I hope as you are watching the movie you show respect towards her. If you know that you aren’t going to like it just don’t watch it.
I give this movie a 1000000…. out of 10 monohorns. I can’t explain or even show how much I love the story line of the drama. It’s so hard to put in words what I feel when I watch it and it’s hard to show how amazing it is. I recommend this movie to anyone and I insist for people to watch it. But, if you know that you won’t like it and only are going to hate on the movie, drama, and manga please don’t waste your time on watching it because this movie should only be watched for those who will respect Mika’s life story. If you know you can’t respect it please don’t watch it.  So just please watch it, that is all for today please check out my pervious      . Thank you so much for reading my review today, I hope you have enjoyed it and I hope that you will love this story as much as I did.

Question: What sad movies or coming to age movies have you really liked?
For me it’s totally Sky of Love it really gives you another view on teenage/ young adult love. It shows you that it could be sweet at moments but sour at other moments but it makes you grow as a person.
