Unmasked Noise

Konbanwa~
Nadeshiko-chan here, reviewing a new 2013 shoujo manga known as Fukumenkei Noise. Its by Fukuyama Ryouko, whose best known for her amazing manga Charming Junkie. It is 1 volume in Japan(ongoing) with 5 chapters scanlated. Alright lets begin:
The story begins with a young girl named Nino Alisugawa who loves singing with her neighbor and childhood friend Momo. Whenever she feels sad or scared by her parents’ fighting, she has Momo sing twinkle-twinkle little star with her. They’re extremely close and really bring each other happiness. But when they enter 4th grade, Momo and his family suddenly disappear. Nino hopes that he’ll soon return, but is she’s heartbroken when she realize he isn't; she feels suffocated and needs to wear a mask, without it she feels like she would scream. After a particular bad day at school, she goes to the beach and meets a boy with long eyelashes named Yuzu. He’s composing music in the sand and after reading it, she begins singing; when she sings her breathing returns to normal and she feels wonderful. Yuzu loves her singing and tells her to meet him again. They meet many times, Nino feeling wonderful whenever she sings he’s songs.  After telling him about Momo, he advises her to continue singing, to sing until her song reaches him and to believe that she’ll meet him once again. He also tells her, that if she ever went far away he’d find her because he loves hearing her sing. Shortly after, Yuzu disappears and she’s heartbroken once again, but this time she decides to sing instead of screaming. She decides to sing and to believe that she’ll meet both of them once again. 6 years later, she’s still singing and
finally meets Yuzu once again. And Momo isn't as far as she may think.
When I first came across it, I thought it was going to be rather cliché, but I read it because I was bored and the cover looked pretty cool, and then i was blow away. Its oddly powerful, Nino’s pain, her love for Momo, and her heartbreak are all expressed beautifully in Ryouko-sensei’s art. When she sings, she looks like she’s screaming, which may sound out but its actually conveys all her emotion wonderfully. Its a manga, so you obviously can’t hear her sing, but because of her expressions, because of the art, you can feel it. I expect great things from this manga, you should catch up and begin watching this drama unravel.
