Hana Kimi Remake Review

Hello it’s Ms. Lee Min Ho; so I’m super excited because Infinite is coming out with a min album called Destiny and I just can’t wait for it!!!! Today’s review is going to be about a Japanese drama called Hana Kimi remake. It is related to Hana Kimi and To the Beautiful you who they are all based on the same manga named Hana Kimi.  The drama came out on July 10 and ended on September 18, 2011. It has 16 episodes and they were all less than an hour long. I prefer this version of Hana Kimi more than the other ones i felt more connected to the characters.
Mizuki Ashiya movies to japan and ends up going to an all boy school which means she has to pretend to be a boy. The main reason she does this because she wants Izumi Sano to jump again and she wants to be with him while he is facing this hard time. She is doing this because as she was a high school student in California she actually meet him there and he told her something that has always made her feel better during her hard times so she wants to pay him back. But what will happen when everyone finds out that she is a girl?
I was hesitant on seeing this version of the drama because I hated the first version even though I loved Ikuta Toma’s character in it. But, I ended up loving this drama even more then the Korean version because I felt that in this we get closer to all the characters and got to know them better.  I didn’t like Shuichi Nakatsu played by Shohei Miura as much as I thought I would because I always end up really liking that character; I started caring for him more towards the end though. I think my overall favorite character was Minami Nanba played by Ren Kiriyama I just felt that he was very mature and that he truly cared about everyone. He always had something good to say and made people feel better. My second favorite character was Taiki Kayashimi played by Tomo Yanagishita I don’t really know why I ended up liking him I think mostly because he was always there for Mizuki Ashiya played by Atsuko Maeda. Mizuki Ashiya did an amazing job she really did remind me of the original girl who played her character in the first Hana Kimi she was so adorable. But, again she looked too much of a girl; these guys are freaking idiots not to notice that she is actually a girl. Izumi Sano played by Aoi Nakamura did a great job he really reminded me of Minho who played his character but the Korean version. Oooo and I also thought Ren Kiriyama looked so much like Hiro Mizushima who played the same character as Kiriyama in the first version. I liked that in this Hana Kimi when they had to pick a guy to dress up like a girl they did pick
Ashiya to dress up like a girl but in the end she didn’t dress up like a girl. I felt that the creator thought about it that if she actually dresses like a girl her secret would have been found out by everyone. The overall drama was great and I loved it. We got to see the soft side of many of the character wish I adored.

I give this drama a 8 out of 10 monohorns because how could a school full of boys not figure out that a girl is living with them.  I know it’s a gender bender drama but it should have been obvious that she is a girl. But I really enjoyed it and I loved how we got to know the character very well in this version of the drama and not just the 2 main characters. If you want a gender bender, school life, and romance this drama is it. Thanks for reading my post please go check out my last post which was about To the Beautiful You.

To the Beautiful You Review

Hey it Ms. Lee Min Ho, todays review is the Korean version of Hana Kimi. It is called To the Beautiful You it came out on August 15, 2012 through October 4, 2012 and it has 16 episodes; each of the eps is about more than 60 minutes. The whole Hana Kimi serious is based on a manga with the same name. I liked this version better then the first Hana Kimi version.
Koo Jae-Hee favorite high jumper Tae-Joon stopped jumping from an injury he ended up getting. She decides to apply to an all boy school that Tae-Joon goes to. She ends up going to that school trying to help him jump again. She gets really close to all the guys and she starts feeling bad for keeping that she is a girl a secret. What will happen when everyone discovers that she is a boy?
The drama was good I didn’t fall in love with it though. I felt that it was super adorable and cute. Minho who plays Kang Tae- Joon and who is also from shine fit the role super wheel. He does seem like a very serious person in real life so I’m pretty sure that it wasn’t too hard for him to do the role. Koo Jae-Hee who is played by Sulli from F(x) was just super girlish and didn’t fit the role too much. She just looked too much like a girl to even be seen as a guy and acted to cute as well; the makers of the drama should have gotten more of a manlish girl in my opinion. But, overall her acting wasn’t too bad and I did like it. But, my overall favorite character was Cha Eun-Gyeol played by Lee Hyun-Woo. I feel in love with his character usually I hate cute type of guys but it was just too hard not to like him. I felt really bad for him because he really did care for Jae-Hee and would do really anything for her. There was this part in the drama were he images how married life would be with her but he obviously thinks that she is a guy and I thought that part was so funny and delightful. Then their kid comes and asks him which daddy did he come out from hahhahaha I love that part. But, there was this episode in which the guys have to dress up like girls for a competition and Koo was picked to dress like a girl. When she was all dressed up I thought how stupid must these boys be not to realize that she is a girl and it really got in my nervous but I just went with the flow and ignored it. But, I really did like this drama and I enjoyed it. I felt that the ending and the whole drama was better than the first Japanese version of the drama. I really liked the dorms they had they looked so modern I want to go to a school like that.
I give this drama a 8 out of 10 monohorns I give it this rating because I felt that Sullie was just to of a girl for gender benders and could have picked a more boyish girl like Amber who is in the same kpop group. This drama was very adorable and enjoyable. If you want a school life, gender bender, and romance type of drama this is for you. I wished that the group Shinee would have guest starred in the drama it would have been really exciting and I would have freaked out. Thanks for reading my post check out my last review which was Hana Kimi.

Hana Kimi Review

Hey it’s Ms. Lee Min Ho, so this weekend I went to the anime expo and it was freaking awesome. I saw a really great kpop stand and bought a CNblue poster and I freaked out when I saw the stand. I also bought a CNU charm which is so adorable. But, the only thing that sucked was that I wasn’t able to see Wong Fu Productions because they didn’t go and on the upside I was able to meet a person who actually works in funamition and he knew Wong Fu Productions. But the overall experience was awesome and I hope I could go again the up in coming year.  Today I am reviewing a Japanese drama Called Hana Kimi. It came out on July 3rd 2007, and ended on September 18th, 2007. It has 12 episodes plus a special that came out in 2008. Each episode is less than 50 minutes.  I didn’t like the drama mostly because the way it ended it really disappointed me.
Mizuki Ashiya transfers to an all boy school in Japan called Osaka High School. That means that she has to cross dress as a boy and the main reason she does this is to get close to her favorite high jumper Izumi Sano. She goes because she wants to help him jump again. The reason he stopped jumping was because one day I think he was trying to defend a girl which ended up being Ashiya from a guy and he ended up hurting his foot.  Since that accented he stopped jumping .Mizuki’s goal ending up being  to help him start jumping again. As, days pass she gets close to all the boys and many unexpected things happen.
I really enjoyed the drama at first and it was really interesting. The actors were great and I felt Shun Oguri played Izumi Sano perfectly. Maki Horikita ended up playing Mizuki Ashiya well but she always ends up in the dramas that I don’t really end up liking. But, overall I felt like she played her character very well and did a perfect job. My favorite character in the drama was Shuichi Nakatsu played by the one and only Toma Ikuta. His character is so cute and I love when he talks to himself. I feel really bad because he ends up being the 3rd wheel and thinks that he is gay for Mizuki Ashiya. At the end he didn’t care anymore if Ashiya was a girl or not and accepted his feeling towards her. The main reason I kind of liked this drama was because of him he really did make me enjoy it. But, the thing that really ruined the whole drama for me was the ending and the special. In the end she leaves the school and maybe months or a year passes and she reads a letter explaining how all the guys were coming to California to visit her. That really got in my nervous because I never remember seeing a kiss between the two main characters and was hoping that would happen in the end. They didn’t really end up together and I was so disappointed. The ending could have been way better. So then when I saw the special I thought ooo this might actually make the drama better but no it just made it worse.  The special was just a lost episode. The ending was her going back to the school for their graduation. Ashiya and Oguri end up together but they don’t even kiss once and nothing really happened only them confessing to each other. The ending just destroyed the whole vibe for me and if it ended better I think this would have been one of my favorite dramas.
I give this drama a 6 out of 10 monohorns because the end just ruined it for me I kind of regretted watching this drama because of the way it finished. I would have just been happy watching it half way but I felt that Toma’s character really saved the drama for me because he actually made it funny and sad at times. I don’t know if I would re watch this drama again and if I do the only reason that I would is because I would want to see Ikuta acting. I wouldn’t know if I would recommend it I think I would if you like gender benders and school life but be ready for a sucky ending. Thanks for reading my blog and I hope you enjoyed it!!!!!!
